Snapshot of Rome

Rome is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to.  Rome is full of sweet people and it has tons of amazing places to see.  The air is cold and calm.  The people are always smiling and waving.  Saying that the buildings are not ornate is like saying that snow isn't cold.  Everywhere you turn you see something you don't usually do.  Their are so many landmarks and things to see.  When I slept in Rome it felt like I was sleeping on a cloud.  Every care of mine slipped away when I arrived in Rome.  Every meal I ate was the best I ever had.  Everything in Rome seemed ten times better then things in America.

The texture of every building was rough and rugged.  There was a restaurant everywhere you turned so you could always smell food.  When you didn't smell food the air had this clean smell to it.  Rome's buildings are old and have many details.  The food tasted wonderful.  They served bread with every meal and they had a lot of pasta.  Everywhere you turned your eyes were amazed.  The sounds of Rome are many different languages.  Everywhere you went someone knew English.  They also had performers on the street and they were singing.  Their voices were sweet and lovely.  Every little thing in Rome was beautiful.  The feel, sights, tastes, sounds, and smells were all beautiful.  Rome is my favorite place in the world.

Dreams

In Of Mice and Men George and Lennie had a specific dream.  George and Lennie wanted a piece of land and animals to take care of.  They want all sorts of animals that they can take care of and sell.  They want to be able to get crops for themselves.  Lennie really wants to be able to take care of rabbits.  Back in the time the story is based in, that dream wasn't realistic.  Now, that dream is a little more realistic.  It cost a lot of money to own land back then and it was a lot harder to make that money.  It's very important to have dreams.  Without dreams you can't hope and strive for something.  Without dreams you don't know who you are and who you want to be.  When people start doubting your dreams, you start doubting your dreams too.  If people are always negative then you become negative, that's why some people give up on their dreams.  Some people dream so hard that no matter what anyone says they still believe, but it's extremely hard to be the only one who believes in yourself.  If dreams go unfulfilled for a long time people start to give up on these dreams.  They start to forget about the dreams and they take the next best thing.  They do something that has to do with their dream or they pick something that will help them get by in life.  I believe that if you have a dream that is nearly impossible you have to try.  Being a famous singer or being president is your dream you have to at least try because if you don't your life will be filled with questions.  Your dreams are always possible, you just have to want it more then anything.  I, myself almost gave up on my dreams of being a singer and actress.  My parents never believed in my dreams and I almost gave up.  What kept me going for my dream was that singing and acting are what I do best.  I feel confident and special when I do those two things.  I love feeling confident and special.  I kept going because of how much I love that feeling.  I'm already planning a trip to California with one of my best friends in a year and a half from now.  Never let your dreams go, and never settle for second best.  You have one life and I believe you should live it.

Who Likes My Hair?

For every little girl, being pretty is a must.  When I was younger I always looked at myself and thought I was ugly.  I don't feel ugly now but back then I always felt ugly.  I wasn't the only one who thought I was ugly though.  Every day people would laugh at my hair and make fun of my hair.  Being laughed at, well it hurt a lot.  I use to use hairspray instead of gel in my hair.
Ever since I was young I had to have some type of product in my hair.  I had to have product in my hair because if I don't have gel or hairspray in it, my hair looks like a beast who will eat you.  With hairspray my hair was always hard and really, REALLY poofy.  If you put something in my hair, you weren't getting it back.  My hair and I were not friends and that was obvious.  Everyone made fun of my hair, everyone.  They would always ask why it was so hard, why it was so poofy.
Around my second year of middle school I started using gel instead of hairspray.  It made a huge difference and I started to love my hair.  Being picked on was not fun, but it made me who I am today.  I use to be able to be pushed around and laughed at.  I would do whatever people told me to do.  Being bullied helped me.  It sounds weird saying it helped me but it did.  I became stronger and happier.  No matter what you have to love who you are.  I know I love who I am and you can't change me.
